About Porter & Curtis

Porter & Curtis, LLC was founded by Bill Curtis and Ken Porter in 1998 through a management buyout of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co’s Pennsylvania operation, which they started in 1994. In December 2020, the business merged with Heffernan Insurance Brokers in San Francisco, and serves as its East Coast platform under Bill’s and Ken’s management.

Known as problem solvers for difficult and unique exposures, Porter & Curtis pursues a general strategy of reducing a client’s total cost of risk and uncertainty. We have distinguished ourselves as experts in the following areas:

Industries: Religious Organizations, Collaborative Consumption (such as car, ride, and home sharing), Social Services, Real Estate, REITs, Private Equity, and Large Middle Market Companies

Structures: Protective Self Insurance, Pools, Captives, Direct Reinsurance, Parametric Covers

Services: Insurance and Reinsurance Brokerage, Risk Management, Integrated Risk Management, Claims Advocacy & Administration, Program Design, Problem Solving

We look at all possibilities to find solutions that will address our clients’ needs today and tomorrow. You get the benefit of working with dedicated people who are not here to “sell” you insurance but to understand your operation, where it’s going and how to help you get there risk-ready.
